The hostel is wonderfully located in a central location behind the famous Friedrichstadtpalast. It is approximately 500 m to Museuminsel and Friedrichstraße railway station and about 100 m to the nightlife scene of Oranienburger Straße and the art centre, Tacheles. Visitors are within an easy walk of the Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz and it is also just a one stop or a short drive the Berlin's main train station. Countless shopping venues and restaurants are to be found within a stone's throw of the hostel and it is 20 km to Schönefeld airport whilst Tegel is 5 km away. This hostel was newly opened in the year 2006 and comprises 6 floors with a total of 60 rooms. The hostel offers a blend of top-notch service and Berlin's famous multi-cultural and cosy ambience to all open-minded travellers and artists. It is a meeting point and offers a completely new kind of hospitality at the heart of Berlin. Facilities include a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a safe and a lift in addition to a café, a bar, a nightclub, a breakfast room and Internet access with a WLAN access point. Laundry services may also be taken advantage of and there is a bicycle hire service and storage facility. The rooms come with a bathroom with a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, a TV, Internet access, a key card system, centrally regulated air conditioning, a hire safe and a seating area. Breakfast may be selected from a buffet each morning. From Berlin main train station (Lehrter Bahnhof), take the S-Bahn to Friedrichstraße and take the exit in the same direction as the train. Turn left on Friedrichstraße over the Spree river in the direction of the Friedrichstadtpalast, turning left after this onto Ziegelstraße. From Schönefeld airport, take the S9 or either the RE4 or RE5 express train, alight in the direction of travel and turn left onto Friedrichstraße. Cross the Spree river in the direction of the Friedrichstadtpalast (on the right-hand side) and turn right onto Ziegelstraße.
