Service was definitely not great, delayed for check in for almost a hour without anything from the hotel; rooms were kind of standard but the air conditioning wasn’t working properly when we were there (july 2022). Breakfast was rather good. I think you can find better value for that price in Nice.
Update: As you can see below, they want me to reach out to them and solve it. As of now (14 November, 2022), they have not responded to any email.

I was here for a scientific conference. The view from the rooftop bar is great. The staff could be a lot friendlier. A meal service at the hotel was very slow and the vegetarian option was extremely bad (some potato mash and lettuce). The staff almost harassed me when I was waiting downstairs to go on a run with someone. I could clearly hear how a staff member was instructed by his manager to watch me and stay near me to see what I was doing (!)

This was the worst stay we have ever had.
We've booked more than 15 rooms for 3 nights
for our company trip. Together with the CEO
we came a day earlier and become our rooms:
with view on the trash cans and renovative works. we reported that to the personnel, asking to have our rooms changed and that's when the reception personnel started ignoring us, talking on the phone (and not about our rooms) with us waiting that the reception. After 6 hours of waiting We got an “update" to another "trashview rooms", this
time with Broken tap that left in my Hand and the water could not be turned off.
The air conditioning wasn't put on during our whole stay, even though we were not the only guests that complained about it.
I'm not even commenting the fact that in my room there was no glass door in the shower and I had to wait a night and 3 "engineer" visits to have a shower curtain put up.
The worst place I have ever stayed in. Even the manager was arrogant and impudent to us.
Do not stay there!

Can't say how disappointed I am with this hotel, spent a long time deciding which hotel to stay in for 4 nights at the end of our 4 week trip and decided on the Aston La Scala due to its fantastic location but this does not make up for the Fawlty Towers experience inside.
First night was a room on the 2nd floor, small but nicely presented and modern. Opened the curtains on to a full height of window brick wall, absolutely no daylight. Shower leaked onto the floor, no ventilation in bathroom, everywhere damp all night, very little sleep due to condensation.
Next day we were moved to a 'better' room (that is very much up for debate), it had a window without a wall in front.
Tired old furniture, still no ventilation in bathroom and no working aircon.
Came home from the beach to a sign on the elevators saying there would be no hot water for a couple of hours which then kept being pushed back, so baby wipes it was. Then there was no water at all, when asking reception if they would be providing bottled water to brush teeth, flush toilet etc I was told there was a bottle in the minibar in the room. When asked if he seriously expected me to pay €6 to flush the toilet a 60cl bottle of Evian was thrust through the hole in the perspex shield at reception. Another sleepless night, room was absolutely roasting.
Day 3, water all working as it should, still no aircon. No sleep. Returned to the room in the evening to discover the window fully opened (like a door) obviously too hot for the cleaning staff and they forgot to close it, result is...
Day 4 No sleep, covered in mosquito bites, still no aircon. Back to reception again only to be told its winter so there is no need for aircon amd it is switched off and was it not good to have the window left open..... I am seriously dreading our last night.
Customer service and comfort is definitely not the priority of this hotel, I observed so many complaints over the past few days but we are just given, at best platitudes or made to feel bothersome.
The only saving grace is the breakfast and the staff there are amazing are the staff who clean the rooms.
The star is for them.

Roof top bar was nice with very nice view of city both in Day @ night , Night was specially nice . People on reception were helpful and spoke English . Good location close to Promenade and activity place . Breakfast was good . Room was nice and has a small balcony . Overall good experience.
