Bed is comfortable but room is a little too small. But it's ok just for sleeping and to use bathroom.
It is just a stone away from Belval plaza. Many restaurants and cafe around. Very convenient.
Walking distance to Belval bus & train station.

Been there during a conference. A rather basic place at a very good location. Standardized plastic wet cells and no fancy breakfast, but was good for me. I'd not recommend using the installed hairdriers, at least the one in my room smelled like mold. Room was clean, mirror in the bathroom needed some more cleaning.
Getting an affordable parking lot is quite challenging, especially if your car is higher than 2m.
There are many bars and restaurants closeby.

Physically it's just like every other Ibis, but all the staff in Belval was especially attentive, professional and welcoming. The great view of the blast furnace from some rooms is a bonus, really giving the otherwise generic chain hotel a sense of place.
The breakfast area is well designed to cope with peak demand and offers decent quality for the price.
The location feels safe and stays lively well into the night. Most of Belval's offices, uni buildings, best restaurants/bars and attractions are less than 5 minutes away on foot. However, you're separated from the centre of Esch - that's a short hop on the train or bus away.

Nothing fancy but perfectly clean and suitable. Good breakfast buffet that includes plenty of options from 6(ish?) to 10am - we showed up around 9:30am and never felt like options were lacking, they resupplied the buffet so everything was still available. Allows dogs for a minor €10/day fee which was amazing for us since we didn't have to scramble to find a dog sitter. A few small issues like the towels are rather thin, the tv is tiny, they don't have much in the way of amenities, the soap/shampoo they offer isn't anything fancy, but that's really not what's important to us. If you're just looking for a reasonably priced clean and well-located place to stay it's perfect. One thing to note is the basic rooms don't have fridges or microwaves or kettles or anything like that, so don't expect to be able to keep or warm your own food. The pricier ones might include those. It was just unusual to me coming from the US.
