Nanny Brow House

Nanny Brow offers award-winning accommodation in a period Arts and Craft house situated on its own private crag surrounded by 6 acres of private garden with river and mountain views. The house has direct access onto the National Trust countryside. There is free onsite parking for all our guests. The elegant bedrooms are individually decorated with antique furniture and many have original features. A large flat-screen TV tea and coffee facilities and home-made cake are featured in the rooms. A modern low entry or walk-in shower have been installed in each en-suite bathroom. Some of the rooms also have a double ended bath as well. Organic toiletries fully towels hair dryers hypoallergenic bedding are provided. Breakfasts are all cooked to order and all feature local produce including a full Lakeland breakfast to home-made drop scones smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Fresh fruit salad cereals home made muesli and local yoghurts and local tea and coffee are also provided. Guests can enjoy a drink from the bar served in either of the two guest lounges in the gardens or in guest rooms. Ambleside village centre with a variety of restaurants is a 5-minute drive or taxi ride or 20 minutes' walk from Nanny Brow. The head of Lake Windermere at Waterhead is also 5 minutes by car or 20 minute walk away for lake cruises or boat hire.
