Beautiful place, stunning rooms but sadly a connecting room with no noise mitigation. They were not noisy people but we could hear each other clearly. Added to a firm bed and thin pillows it did not make for a restful night

This place is incredible.
I want to live here lol.. so beautiful! Our room was well appointed with modern upgrades yet it still felt like we were staying in a castle.. it was way cool waking up in a castle.. loved going up to the very top to enjoy the 360 degree view.
The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating.. we will definitely come again soon!

Very cool castle and village inside the walls of this pre-Medieval fortress. An place to easily spend a day exploring, but if you are able to stay overnight in the real castle, do so! Nice restaurants in the city, lots of tourist shopping. Enjoy a day!

We choose this expensive hotel which cost us 220 EU, the highest price we spent in Portugal/Spain, since we wanted the experience, as described in the website, of a nice room in the castle and were willing to pay this expensive price for what is presented in the website. A "cottage at the castle" for this expensive amount looks very promised (on the website). We checked in and payed. Then we were taken to the smallest hotel room that we have ever experienced. One cannot open the suitcase there. Not present in the castle (perhaps this was the servants’ part). Not any equipment in the room, nor nearby parking, not any view of the valley or the castle. And all this for 220 EU? How could have we know all that from the website. This is a completely misleading and cheating the tourists. We complained at the office but were told that this is what we ordered and therefore they cannot help. Be aware of that cheating.

Fun night in a castle, but with modern amenities. It is not a normal hotel, so prepare yourself, but the grounds and the town make up for loosing out on some of the creature comforts we are used to from similarly priced hotels that aren't castles. The breakfast spot had everything you could want and then some and couldn't have prettier views or nicer staff. The rooms in the castle are private and quaint and offer some exclusive views only to hotel guests. We woke up ate breakfast, walked as much of the wall as was possible - which is a lot, and then hit the road for the next leg of our trip.

Um 4,3 pela comparação com outras. Valeu o quarto, a comida do restaurante e o serviço. O problema do preço e qualidade dos vinhos. Quadruplicam sem justificação. Pena.

Charming location, but I missed some of the comforts such as extra blankets and tea making facilities in the room. Also, there is no bar or coffee area to get refreshments outside of mealtimes.
Pack light as you'll have to carry your luggage from the car park

I had a standard double room. I expected it to be in the castle keep, but in reality it was in one of the adjacent white buildings, which didn't look very special. In terms of atmosphere it didn't do much for me, other than being inconveniently small. Yes, I know that it can't be helped, but definitely consider leaving your luggage behind. The keep itself is pretty small, not sure how many rooms they have there. It contains the restaurant which does have some nice medieval atmosphere. Considering it was in a historical building, the room was well kempt. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which helped justify some of the price for me, but bottom line I didn't feel it was worth it. If that's what you are looking for, for this price I have stayed in much better castle hotels in eastern Europe (you might not find the same friendly service there however).

The staff was so friendly and kind.Helpful with any questions and moving luggage.Inside the castle wall is a small village that is humble and feels like stepping back in time.I traveled from the top of Portugal to Lisboa and inside the walls was the very best authentic shopping!I can not wait to go back! The castle is maintained well, beautifully decorated, breathtaking views, amazing friendly people, delicious food, amazing souvenirs and possibly one of the best experiences of my life!Huge thank you to the staff.

Very well-prepared food in a regal setting within the walls of the castle. Service is professional and gracious. Prices are on the high side, but so what, you're dining like royalty! One caveat: insist on being seated in the main dining room. The smaller room at the entrance looks fine, but that's where the WC is, plus the entrance for the cleaning crew, and where linens, etc. are stored. Stick with the main room and be prepared for menu prices that are somewhat higher than you would expect in Portugal.

An amazing place to stay the night. Could not imagine a better way to experience Óbidos rather than staying a night T the castle. The room are small, and old, but magnificent, the castle grounds are beautiful and the view from the walls and towers is breathtaking. We also had dinner at the castle restaurant, it was nice, but the food can do better. On top the staff was kind and helpful.Getting there was not too easy, we climbed all the way with a 9 seats van, but be sure to take a small car.In the end it was worth everything.

Stayed in the castle (and upgraded to the king/queen tower) after a day in Óbidos. Really a unique and once in a lifetime experience. All staff bent over backwards for you. Definitely not your typical hotel (obviously) but in a good way. Cannot day enough good about our stay and would highly recommend to anyone

Guests should be informed at time of reservation that the facility has no conditions for senior or people with disabilities. Even at check in when making reservation for dinner with the family (7 people)we were not informed that to get to the restaurant we needed to walk up 55 steps outside with no rails. Ridiculous and dangerous specially with wet pavement.

Perfect hotel, the old castle of the village. Now reconstructed. The only thing is that rooms are too close and you can hear the neighbors very loudly. Very good breakfast. You have to go upstairs to the rooftop and admire the sights

Stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. The castle is really cool, the food in the restaurant is fantastic, but can't say enough good things about the service and all the people that work in this Pousada. We've traveled all over and stayed in all types of hotels, this one is by far the best one. Can't beat the quality of the people and the views of the castle along with the history that it has.Highly recommended!
