The Greek authorities impose a new compulsory city tax for stays at accommodation premises in Greece such as hotels, inns, hostels, boarding-houses and guest houses. The tax will be applicable as of 1 January 2018 (regardless of date of booking creation). The compulsory city tax is collected directly from the tourist(s) by the operator/owner of the accommodation premises. The tax amount will vary depending on the booked property and may be subject to change.
