A special thank you to Evita who took amazing care of my gluten free needs, and served everyone with such energetic warmth!!My one criticism of the rooms is that there is no air circulation in the bathrooms. Hotel is located in an excellent spot…within walking distance to many attractions… Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, museums, Plaka, Ancient Agora. Many restaurants in the area to choose from and the rooftop hotel restaurant has an amazing view and great food as well. The bed was amazing! I suffer with back problems and not once did my back hurt!!!! Staff was helpful and friendly, special thanks to Mr. George, who helped us park the rental car whenever we returned to the hotel. Would recommend and would definitely stay again if in Athens.
Excelente 👌 todo muy bien, lo recomiendo ampliamente, y no te pierdas la cena en el roof la vista al partenon es muy bella, la comida es muy rica, costo aceptable ,el desayuno perfecto. Totalmente recomendable
I gave them 4 stars because the views from my room weren't the best, another building. Hotel is situated in a great location. The roof bar has stunning views. Great breakfast and the staff in the restaurant are very helpful, specially Christina.
Very comfortable rooms (we had a single & double), in a great location for the Acropolis and various museums, and with very friendly & efficient staff. Excellent breakfast too. The rooftop restaurant is famous for its view of the Acropolis, and the food was the best we ate in our 10 day visit to Greece - but the portions are "nouvelle cuisine" size and are very expensive.
We, our party of six, stayed here for three nights at the beginning of our Mediterranean holiday and were pleasantly surprised considering that the hotel is a relatively good value given its location. This is a very good hotel in an ideal location. The rooms are small but typical of Europe and the amenities are fine but nothing to write home about. There are two things that really make the hotel stand out. The staff is terrific. Very helpful, very accommodating, personable and competent. The second thing is the view from the rooms and especially from the rooftop restaurant and bar. The Acropolis is right there in all its wonder. Beautiful by day and just stunning at night when it is lighted. The free breakfasts at the rooftop are very good as well and having that view as you sip your coffee can’t be beat. Overall, this is an excellent option for a hotel stay in Athens. We give it five clams on the coveted Five Quahog Rating Scale.
I cannot stress enough how wonderful our experience at The Athens Gate was -from the friendly and personable front desk staff, the immaculate room with a mini balcony facing the Temple of Zeus, to the wonderful dinner and breakfast at their rooftop bar facing the Acropolis. Check-in was straightforward and easy. I didn't have my passport on me, but the staff graciously accepted my driver's license until my husband arrived later in the day with our passports. The room, while small, was exceptionally clean and cool. We fell in love with the balcony overlooking the Temple of Zeus and the shower with a view! Our room faced a busy street, but we didn't mind the noise from traffic (city dwellers). It was considerably quiter once we closed the balcony doors. Dinner on their rooftop restaurant was splendid. The front desk helped with reservations, thank you! We had a corner table facing the Acropolis and museum. The food was excellent (our compliments to the chef and staff for exceptional service). Everything we ordered was so well made and flavorful. Breakfast was quite the spread. There was a bit of everything to fuel the body for a day of sightseeing. Bonus: the hotel is about a five minute walk to the north entrance of the Acroplis and the Acropolis museum. It also another 5 minute walk to the entrance of the temple of Zeus and a gorgeous park with an outdoor movie theater. Não posso enfatizar o suficiente o quão maravilhosa foi nossa experiência no The Athens Gate - desde a equipe amigável e gentil da recepção, o quarto imaculado com uma mini varanda de frente para o Templo de Zeus, até o maravilhoso jantar e café da manhã no bar da cobertura de frente para a Acrópole. O check-in foi simples e fácil. Eu não estava com meu passaporte, mas a equipe gentilmente aceitou minha carteira de motorista até meu marido chegar no final do dia com nossos passaportes. O quarto, embora pequeno, era excepcionalmente limpo e fresco. Apaixonamo-nos pela varanda com vista para o Templo de Zeus e pelo chuveiro com vista! Nosso quarto ficava em uma rua movimentada, mas não nos importamos com o barulho do tráfego (moradores da cidade). Foi consideravelmente mais tranquilo quando fechamos as portas da varanda. O jantar no restaurante da cobertura foi esplêndido. A recepção ajudou com reservas, obrigado! Tínhamos uma mesa de canto de frente para a Acrópole e o museu. A comida era excelente (os nossos cumprimentos ao chef e à equipe pelo serviço excepcional). Tudo o que pedimos estava muito bem feito e saboroso. Café-da-manhã foi bastante a propagação. Havia um pouco de tudo para abastecer o corpo para um dia de turismo. Bônus: o hotel fica a cerca de cinco minutos a pé da entrada norte da Acrópole e do museu da Acrópole. É também mais 5 minutos a pé até a entrada do templo de Zeus e um lindo parque com um cinema ao ar livre.
If you're looking for a great hotel in the heart of Plaka then this is your spot! Some rooms have views of the Acropolis and our room had a wonderful full view of Hercules' temple. The rooftop restaurant has an amazing view of the Acropolis and serve fantastic food and drinks. Staff are extremely friendly and very accommodating.

La posición del hotel perfecta para visitar el centro historico de Atenas caminando, cerca a Plaka, Syntagma, Monastiraski. El hotel espectacular, el servicio y la atención de todo el personal, las habitaciones comodas y limpias (la mia con vista al Acrópolis), baño grande. El desayuno tipo buffett delicioso, se podia escoger entre dulce y salado, el restaurante se ubica en el piso 8 del hotel con terraza con vista al Acropoli. Muy contenta de la estadia.
Un poco ruidosa la avenida en los pisos más bajos, imperdible el restaurante en la azotea con vistas increíbles y personal super amable.

Fiz a reserva e quando cheguei deram upgrade de quarto... O que era bom ficou melhor! Ganhei vista para o Temple of Zeus. No banheiro, eles oferecem vários kits: cotonetes, linha e agulha... O café da manhã, incluído, fica disponível no terraço do Hotel... Para minha surpresa.... ele tem uma vista espetacular para a Acrópole. Indescritível, tomar cafe da manha por ali... O café da manhã foi o ponto forte, não tinha muitas variedades, porém me agradou muito... Não se assuste com com o tamanho do elevador: minúsculo! Pelo menos tem. Achei tudo organizado. Voltaria certamente a me hospedar ali. Recomendo muito.

Hotel muito bem localizado. Viemos em dois adultos e duas crianças. Como os quartos são para duas pessoas pegamos dois conectados. Foi excelente para a família. O café da manhã é ótimo, com direito para vista deslumbrante do templo de Apolo e da Acropolis. Perto de tudo, não tivemos que usar táxi nem metro. O barulho da avenida na frente não nos incomodou.

O destaque deste hotel é a sua localização, oferecendo uma vista perfeita da Acrópole do bar e restaurante do 8º andar. À noite oferece um cenário iluminado e durante o café da manhã uma vista deslumbrante com seu café. O próprio hotel tem bons quartos com chuveiro e boa arrumação. Apenas café instantâneo disponível no quarto -ugh! O café da manhã é OK. Há uma boa variedade, mas eu não achei tão saboroso e o café da manhã quente nunca estava quente. Fácil de encher embora em croissants, cereais, torradas e frutas. Tive a sorte de estar em um quarto no 5º andar na parte de trás com vista para a Acrópole. Exceto que há um prédio de 6 andares em frente que limitava a vista a um pequeno canto e eu tive que sair para a varanda para isso! Mas digo sorte porque os quartos da frente têm vista para uma rodovia de 8 pistas. Você sai pela entrada da frente direto para o autogeddon da hora do rush! Um dia eu fiquei isolado na ilha central porque a luz verde de pedestres mudou para vermelho no meio do caminho. Por um minuto, havia 4 faixas de tráfego voando em ambos os lados de uma faixa de 2 pés de pavimento! É exatamente um minuto porque você pode contar os segundos no visor de luz enquanto se agarra ao poste da lâmpada. No outro lado da estrada, porém, está o Templo de Zeus Olímpico, mas economize a taxa de entrada porque a vista do restaurante do 8º andar oferece uma visão muito melhor do layout. Tráfego à parte este ainda é um bom hotel em uma ótima localização e eu voltaria.
The stand out asset of this hotel is its location offering a perfect view of the Acropolis from the 8th floor bar and restaurant. At night if offers a floodlit backdrop and over breakfast a stunning view with your coffee. The hotel itself has nice rooms with shower and good housekeeping. Only instant coffee available in room though -ugh! Breakfast is OK. There is a good range but I didn't find it that tasty and the hot breakfast was never hot. Easy to fill up though on croissants, cereal, toast and fruit. I was lucky to be in a 5th floor room at the back overlooking the Acropolis. Except there is a 6 storey building opposite that limited the view to a tiny corner and I had to get out onto the balcony for that! But I say lucky because the rooms at the front look out onto an 8 lane highway. You step out the front entrance straight into rush hour autogeddon! One day I got marooned on the central island because the green pedestrian light changed to red halfway across. For one minute there was 4 lanes of traffic flying past on both sides of a 2 foot strip of pavement! It is exactly one minute because you can count down the seconds on the light display while clinging onto the lamp post. On the far side of the road though is the Temple of Olympian Zeus but save yourself the entry fee because the view from the 8th floor restaurant gives a far better view of the layout. Traffic aside this is still a good hotel in a great location and one I would come back to.
Nice, clean room with amazing view. Breakfast is served at the rooftop with astonishing view, nice selection of foods and very kind and helpful personnel not only at breakfast but at the reception as well. We left the place very early in the morning and they packed us a breakfast bag carefully. We felt ourselves safe and in good hands.
The hotel is centrally located. The service is absolutely fine, all the staff are friendly and helpful.Would return here when I next come to Athens. All the tourist attractions are within walking distance.
The Athens Gate Hotel is a must visit when traveling to Athens. This beauty has everything you can expect from a five star hotel even though it's classified at four stars. Everything from stunning views, great service and amazing food makes this a wonderful stay. The rooms on the east side gives you a beautiful view of The temple of Olympian Zeus while on the west side of the hotel you get an amazing view of acropolis both during night and day.The restaurant and bar area is situated at the top floor with 360° views of the city. A cold beer at the upper balcony with the view of acropolis is fantastic and enough to make you sit there for hours.This hotel has definitely made my top 10 in the world and is by far my favorite when traveling to Athens.Worth noting is the amazing staff that really gives the cherry on top feeling. The hotel is near a busy road, but the walls have great insulation and noise is never a problem.Would recommend everyone visiting Athens to stay a night here or to at least try the restaurant and enjoy the fantastic views.Thank you to all the amazing people at The Athens Gate Hotel. I will be coming back!!

Awesome place to stay in Athens! Great location, good value for money, but more than anything else the staff got out of their way to make our stay more convenient and enjoyable! Shoutout to the guys servicing the rooftop bar (which has magnificent views by the way)!

Excellent hotel, comfortable, spotless, wonderful service from very friendly and efficient staff. Food very good. Brilliant New Years Eve with best views of fireworks. Also best views of the Acropolis,Zeuscolumns, sea in the distance. Very central for all attractions. Only negative Is noise from traffic, ask for a room at the back of the hotel. If I ever go back to Athens it will be to this competitively priced hotel.

Enjoyed 5 days here over Christmas. Great rooms serviced every day. Excellent staff. Right in the centre of Athens and so close to all the major landmarks. Fabulous rooftop restaurant with all the views you could want.

Excelente ubicación, frente al templo Zeus olímpico y a escasos metros del museo y entrada sur del acrópolis. Habitaciones muy limpias y cuidadas. El desayuno se sirve en la última planta con unas vistas espectaculares del acrópolis.
Hotel muy céntrico pero con mucha tranquilidad. Las vistas que hay donde sirven el desayuno son de 10! Trato muy amable y discreto. El precio es correcto para donde está y como está.
Fue una experiencia increíble. Sin duda volveré a este hotel, ya no solo porque tenga muy buena ubicación, ya que está a 5 minutos de todos los monumentos. Si no porque cada trabajador de este hotel hace la estancia cómoda y maravillosa. La habitación la dejan súper limpia, cuidando cada detalle. El desayuno es buffet y está todo increíble. Vistas preciosas. Gracias y enhorabuena a cada trabajador del hotel que lo hace único !

Hotel muy céntrico de Atenas, con las mejores vistas y al lado de todo. Desayunar en su azotea con vistas al Partenón, es una gran experiencia.
Lindo hotel, con vista privilegiada da justo al templo de Zeus,de la terraza se observa claramente el Partenon. Por la noche iluminado es bellisimo.Ofrecen muy buenos desayunos tipo internacional. Los ascensoresson antiguos y le dan un toque especial. La atención es muy buena, atenta. Al llegar te ofrecen un delicioso vaso de agua y unos dulces exquisitos.Recomendable
