For $80 queen room with all u can eat breakfast, one can over look it's dagginess. Very popular with workers who were very quiet after 8ish. Mad Mo's cafe provided take away evening meal. Shower in bath. Should provide handrail WH&S. A supply of shampoo, conditioner and body wash present. Two lg towels and 5 pillows. Hairdryer. Small, small TV. Amenities provided.

I believe it's now called Settlers House. Very nice clean rooms with good facilities in a great location. Staff are really nice and handled the mad weekend rush and resturant/bar very well. The only negative would be the thin walls. Next door getting up at 4am on Sunday morning, running their TV until 6 am when they left, very loudly, was a bit hard to take.

Mo and Donna went out of their way to look after our large group of several familes. My own family had a spa double room upstairs, and a twin room. Both had fresh carpets, comfy beds, fresh new linen and and were roomy and sparkling clean.
While the complex does not pretend to be flash, it was very nicely done up inside; I loved the beautiful classic washstand in bathroom, but also the spa; narrow, but good jets!
Plenty parking under floodlights on one side, and you can use MadMo's cafe as a walk-through to the main street.
Excellent value for money, too, and breakfast is very big and filling.
If you're a bit noise-sensitive like myself, perhaps request an upstairs room not facing the courtyard, where the noise is amplified when other guests get in late. Our room faced the railway line but only one train passed and we slept really well. Mo and Donna were very reasonable about late-checkout, for which we were very grateful!
Very happy to recommend, and shall definitely stay here again when next in York.

Absolutely everything you need for a short (or long) stay in this lovely town. Comfortable big bed, TV, fridge & microwave and cutlery and crockery. Stocked with tea, coffee and milk which was nice. Get a room with a bath tub if you can. Great location right on the main street of town, close to restaurants, museums and the river.

Clean, tidy room. Very quiet and peaceful. Plenty of parking nearby. Need to go to Mad Mo's Cafe on the main street to check in.
There were lots of ant nests outside our room and a few ants wandering around inside.
