We had a stylish room with a comfy bed, fluffy towels, kettle, complimentary water etc. Bar area is also a stylish & comfortable place with a couple of real ales, selection of cocktails, gins etc. Restaurant is excellent - interesting menu, delicious food & fantastic service. A quality establishment all round & in a great location too.

We had a really lovely dinner here on a Saturday. Sat in the bar area that is now spread out for diners. Good service, nice wine and lovely food. Able to cater for a gluten allergy. We were on a staycation and would definitely return if we were in the area again 👍

Called here for Sunday lunch after a recommendation from a friend. Well worth it. We had 3 courses, each was great. The dishes tasted fresh and the beef was fantastic, cooked rare and so soft. The starters and puddings were all just as good. The portions and quality are so much more than the price suggests.

We had an overnight stay here with our 16
month old. We had an evening meal, which was lovely - the steak was a little too salty but this was quickly rectified. The accommodation was clean and comfortable - a little warm but it was a very hot day! A lovely breakfast the following morning with homemade granola and yogurt followed by a full Cumbrian breakfast. After a quick tour around the local shops we then enjoyed a quick drink in the courtyard. Staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Great restaurant, great food, great staff. Accommodation is clean and to a high standard. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating, dealing with all our needs without hesitation.
