I'm not sure why I'd ever stay at another hotel in Portland. What a wonderful, beautiful building. Room was great, the library is a wonderful space, and the staff were accommodating and pleasant. Great location too. We will be back next time we're here.

They go on record on the news, complaining about a bike lane in front of their hotel because guests "almost got hit" because they stepped into the street without looking. Also, your general manager is wrong, a bicycle didn't hit a guest's door. That means a guest opened their door into a bicycle. You have attempted to shift blame to push your narrative.

I stayed in the hotel July28 2022. After booked the hotel online and payed all taxes, on the chech in the hotel informed that they have 30 dollares per night as an extra fee. I asked about what is included? the answer was lots ( actually nothing). I complain again and the said it would have breakfast (they dont, only black coffe), complementary drink (1 water bottle) and shoe shining.
The problems dont stop there, when I entered in the room, it smell roten food. So I found a leftover box with rotten food from last guest.
I walked with the food to the reception and talk with Brandon (receptionist) he even bother to say sorry. They wont provide room clean service if you stay more than 1 day.
I tried to talk with the maneger, and Brandon threat me like he doesnt care, only answering, he is not here, we wont do anything about.
Please dont book there, it will ruin your trip. They dont care about you.

Not only was the hotel staff kind and accommodating, they went far above and beyond to correct our situation when we had a small issue with our fridge. They responded within minutes and compensated us for our time.
The bikes were darling-- one-gear cruisers that don't go fast, but they were perfect for getting around. (Keep in mind you'll want to call down ahead of time to give the staff time to get them out)
The book room is loaded with an extensive library of books to curl up with by the huge fireplace, and the coffee shop is owned and run by the world's most darling female entrepreneur. Chocolate lovers beware! You will not be able to pass it up.
Very dog friendly and full of couples and friends who love a peaceful, low key environment.

A pretty elaborate hotel located within a historic building. They have a gorgeous library that will awe you as you walk through. The rooms were quite nice. We had a huge TV in our room- literally the largest TV I’ve ever had in a hotel room before. It was great for the night and I’d stay here again. Cons- I heard a cat in the room next door, so if pets are allowed, it’s a bit concerning due to allergies. You can smell weed in the hallways as well. It’s not cheap or not too expensive- it was $160 (including $30 resort fee).
